- Electronic Laboratory Notebook
- An electronic laboratory notebook (eln, or elab
notebook) is a software package that eliminates the need
for paper based lab notebooks by providing access and
manipulation of data from a informatics system. An
example of an electronic lab notebook, would be the
Waters eLab Notebook.
- Laboratory Informatics
- A platform that allows scientific data to be
captured, migrated, processed, and interpreted for
immediate use, as well as stored and managed to support
future product development. Waters has a variety of
informatics offerings.
- Scientific Data Management System
- A system that captures, catalogs and archives ALL
data generated by ALL laboratory instruments (HPLC, MS
or Mass Spectrometry) and applications (LIMS, analytical
applications, electronic laboratory notebooks) in a
compliant way, serving up the data in an application and
platform independent way to a variety of informatics
